The totally unofficial A-Team electronic mail newsletter

Submission address:
Administrivia: Nicole Pellegrini,
DATE: October 14, 1994
Greetings again everybody,

Well, here's issue number 2. It's coming a little early
this week as I'll be away thru the weekend. Hopefully
a few format problems I noticed in the last issue have been
fixed for this one.

There's a few things I wanted to bring up myself this
issue. First is, until I get an ftp or some sort of archive
site set up, if you need any "backissues" of the group just
email me. I am keeping them all on my computer for later
archival purposes. Also please let me know if you did not yet
receive the first issue, as this server keeps bugging out on
me every now and then.

There haven't been many submissions received this week, however
many new people expressed interest in the group to me and have
since joined up. There's something like 30 of us now!

Finally, a message from me to William and Valerie: I must
apologize but due to circumstances beyond my control (ie,
midterms) I was unable to get the video dubbing done for you this
week. They will be done, without a doubt, this coming week, or
else you can send Mr. T. after me. :-)

I guess that's all for now. As promised, here is the first
part of the complete episode list, the 1st season episodes. The
other seasons will follow in future editions. Any corrections
or additions are welcome. Thanks to Tony Friedman and Russell
Perry (and Cannell Films!) for this list, which I made a *few*
corrections to.

until later,

The A-Team Episode Guide

Ten years ago/In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military
court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped a maximum
security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the
government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if
one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team.

Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith George Peppard
Sergeant Elliot "Bad Attitude" Baracas Mr T (Lawrence Tero)

"Child of Rage" was a TV movie. Fairly recent, I think, and quite
chilling. Toronto's "Federation Station" CITY-TV put it on as
late night filler. I might hunt through last weeks TV guide. You get
to see more of that sweet little homicidal girl and the mother, but
Dwight was quite convincing as the preacher. He even cried during
one of his sermons! That reminds me of the episode where he rescues
Hannibal and the guys from a prison with a bible. (Faceman failed
as a priest, but H.M. Murdock succeeded). One of my favorite
A-team's is where the team protects homeless people from being
used as target practice for assorted baddies. Faceman places an
Irish-accented priest, and Murdock is damn fine Bible-thumper!
"If we're not going back, then we're not going back. But if we
are going back, then we are going back". Hunh?

I liked all the Team members so it would be difficult to pin
who was my favorite member, but as a Starbuck fan Dirk was
right up there for a while (he didn't appear in the original
pilot though).

Ed. comments...
Well looks like I'll have to hope "Child of Rage" shows up on
Philly late night someday, I was hoping it was out on video :-(
I too liked all the team memmers, but (if you haven't noticed
already) Dwight was definitely my favorite actor on the show. As a
little kid watching I just thought Murdock was the greatest and I was
convinced for a few years there I wanted to become a helicopter pilot!
George Peppard comes in a close second just cause he was always so
cool about everything. I just saw "The Battle of Bel-Air" episode this
week for the first time in has this fantastic helicopter
chase scene where Murdock and Hannibal in this piece-of-shit barely-
operable helicopter rigged with machine guns manage to outmaneuver(sp?)
this state-of-the-art missle equipped chopper. No one but Hannibal
could be so cool blasting away on the guns and with cigar firmly in
place the whole time.
I was *terribly* depressed the day I heard George had died...I
didn't hear about it until at least a month or so after it happened.
Watching the old episodes now leaves a real bittersweet feeling.

Good job on the first installment of the newsletter. My top 3 favorite shows
are as follows: 1) Black Day at Bad Rock, 2) The Fifth Season Opener, 3)
Rabbit Who Ate Las Vegas.

Since I promised a short bio of Dirk Benedict last week, here it goes. I
know where he was born, but I do know that he turns 50 this March. He has
in over 20 movies and has starred and co-starred in many of them. Movies he
has done include (in order): Georgia, Georgia (1972), Sssssss! (1973), W
, Journey from Darkness (1975), Cruise into Terror (1978), Mission Galactica
(1979), several of the Battlestar Galactica tapes now available on VHS (1978-
1979), The Georgia Peaches (1980), Ruckus (1981), Scruples (1981),
Aces (1981), Body Slam (1986), Trenchcoat in Paradise (1989), Bejewelled
Blue Tornado (1991), Shadow Force (1992), Demon Keeper (1993), Official
(1993), The Feminine Touch (1994). *** Dirk Benedict has also appeared in
many other TV shows besides the A-Team. His TV series and guest appearances
are as follows: Hawaii Five-O (1972), Chopper One (1/17/74-7/11/74),
Angels (twice), The Cabot Connection (CBS pilot - 1977), Battlestar Galactica
(9/17/78-4/29/79), Galactica 1980 (once), The Love Boat (twice), Family in
Blue (1982 CBS pilot), Amazing Stories (1985), Hotel (1987), Murder She Wrote
(1989), Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1989), Evening at the Improv (guest host -
1991), Baywatch (1992), The Commish (1993). *** He has also done a 30 min.
exercise video titled "Steel Stomachs". Dirk is married and has two young
children. He has also written two books. His first is titled "Confessions
of a Kamikaze Cowboy" and I'm not sure the title of the second one.***
That's It!

Ed. comments...
Thanks for sending in the bio. I'll have to look for his books. Didn't
Dirk nearly die of cancer or something a few years before The A-Team
started up? I *thought* I remember that one of his books was about that,
but I could be mistaken.
